Founded in 1991, by Eng. Ioan Popa, PhD. Transavia rapidly becomes one of the most important players on the Romanian poultry market, being the sole company with an integrated, breeding, processing, and commercializing poultry system in Transilvania.
Ioan Popa is the majority shareholder of the company, as well as the manager who builds this company, together with over 650 employees and a strong team of managers. “Every year we have reinvested every penny gained, we have implemented the latest technology available in Europe, we have made no compromises regarding the quality and safety of our products, and we have carefully chosen our people and partners - this is the base of our success” - proudly declares Ioan Popa.In 2004, Transavia constructs its own slaughterhouse, with an annual production capacity of over 50,000 tons of meat.
The year 2005 is marked by investments of over 7 million euro, directed towards increasing the poultry breeding capacity, enlarging the combined feed factory, and gaining the export authorization for the Transavia products.
The year 2006 distinguishes itself by numerous accomplishments:
- The company is awarded the title of “Supplier to the House of His Majesty King Mihai I” during an official ceremony at the Elisabeta Palace;
- Investments of over 11 million euro are made toward new farms and production technologies, leading to successfully commercializing over 25,000 tons of meat annually;
- The Transavia products are present in the stores of every large, international retail chain;
- The company inaugurates its largest poultry breeding facility, with an annual capacity of approximately 8,000 tons of meat.
In 2007, our investment plans target the completion, and acquisition of technology required for the new, finalized-product factory, its inauguration projected for this autumn, as well as widening the assortment of our chicken products.
