Transavia presents first Romanian food industry sustainability report

Transavia Group, one of the most regarded family business and the leader of the Romanian poultry industry, delivers this important and transparent performance on its 30 years anniversary of innovation and consistency on the Romanian market.

At the same time, Transavia will mark another important goal in 2021: exceeding the benchmark of 100,000 tonnes of raw poultry meat per year.

Transavia presents first Romanian food industry sustainability report in 2020, delivered by a company with 100% local capital. Furthermore, with the launch of the sustainability goals for 2025, we want to offer  our partners, clients and employees a transparent overview of the group’s activity. Through this report we reasserted the position of leaders of the category in which we operate, both in terms of market position and the actions taken by our company.

The report is a first for the Romanian meat industry and the first developed according to GRI standards and aligned with SDGs. The document refers to January-December 2019 interval, highlighting important business aspects for all units in the group.

Efforts of Transavia management have always been focused on consolidating the business in a sustainable way. A successful business means supporting local communities and social responsibility as part of the business strategy, and ”strenghtening our business in a sustainable way is one of our main concerns, in order to have a prosperous and solid entreprise now and for future generations” says Theodora Popa, Vice-Chairman Transavia.

In 2019, 40 organizations benefited of Transavia support, and 4.500.000 RON was the total amount given in 2019 in sponsorship for: building a hospital, providing food to 30 social centers, partnerships with NGOs and universities and support for athletes.

Transavia is committed to helping the local community and providing support and encouragement through difficult times. We will continue to assist the health system in Romania, education and sports and, last but not least, we will continue our mission to provide healthy and safe chicken products.
