On September 3, 2025, the TRANSAVIA vegetable farms in Rediu, Cluj County, became the meeting point for over 500 farmers from Transylvania, Banat, and Crișana. The first edition of the „The Corn Festival – From the plow to the drone”, Organized in partnership with East Agro. On a 10-hectare demonstration platform created at the TRANSAVIA vegetable farm, 96 corn hybrids were cultivated and documented. The farmers were able to compare the productivity and adaptability of these hybrids to local conditions on the field and watched demonstrations of modern technology, including drones for plant protection and crop monitoring. The platform was monitored throughout the season by 12 students from USAMV Cluj-Napoca. The TRANSAVIA farm thus became a true living laboratory where theory meets practice.
The involvement in this project reflects TRANSAVIA’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and local communities. The market leader in poultry in Romania is the only producer in the country with a 100% integrated model, „from bean to fork,” and cultivates approximately 10,000 hectares of corn, wheat, and sunflower. These crops provide the feed for the chicks coming from and raised exclusively on its own farms. „For TRANSAVIA, the partnership in this initiative confirms that high-performance and sustainable agriculture is built through collaboration. The 10-hectare platform created in our vegetable farm in Rediu demonstrates that tradition, efficiency, and innovation can go hand in hand, transforming the challenges on the field into real opportunities.”, said Adrian Fărcaș, Director of the Vegetal Sector at TRANSAVIA.
