Transavia farms are implementing for the first time in Romania the Global G.A.P. standard of good practices and sustainability in agriculture.
Transavia farms have received a new exclusive certification attesting to the quality of chicken meat products through sustainable and safe production. Within the company, food safety involves the application of the latest requirements of international quality and safety standards. In this regard, Transavia has implemented the highest quality standards in the food sector.
For consumers and merchants, GLOBAL G.A.P. represents the guarantee that food products achieve the highest level of quality and food safety, being produced in a sustainable manner throughout the entire production chain, respecting the most stringent requirements regarding food safety, animal welfare, environmental impact, responsible water use, safe and sustainable feed production, farming activities, and regulations related to employee safety and welfare.
”Food safety and the quality of life of our consumers are at the core of our company's principles. All products that we sell nationally and internationally are produced in accordance with the latest version of the highest international food safety norms and standards, under the close supervision of sanitary-veterinary and environmental authorities. To date, the company has implemented and certified the following standards: ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC Food v7, Halal”, confirms Dr. Eng. Ioan Popa, President of Transavia.
Since June 2018, a new certificate attests to the quality of Transavia products, and this is Global G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) - the world's most important farm assurance program, which certifies Good Agricultural Practices on farms and production facilities.
This standard achieves the important connection between the producer and the retailer to ensure the safest possible product for consumers. The Global G.A.P. standard fosters the idea of sustainable agriculture at all levels: food safety, environment, animal welfare, and workers' health, welfare, and safety. It ensures sustainable production at the strategic level of feed and poultry production, reproduction and incubation, and growing farms, which is very important and specific only to poultry meat producers, a category in which the company Transavia has been the leader in Romania for over 11 years.
Global G.A.P. is a standard specific to and exclusive for producers—as it addresses these important areas, ensuring transparency in production for retailers and consumers. Transavia is the only 100% integrated producer—from seed to table—that has exclusively obtained this certification on the Romanian market, meeting all the conditions required by this standard. There are over 450 GlobalG.A.P. requirements, which have been implemented and fulfilled across all Transavia farms and production facilities; these requirements comprise a compilation of legislative provisions and standards set by several major international retailers.
„Obtaining the Global G.A.P. certificate represents a new recognition of the activity we have been carrying out for over 27 years in accordance with the latest standards and modern technologies, with the role of assuring consumers of our seriousness and involvement throughout the entire integrated production process. Once again, we keep our promise made to consumers everywhere through Well Made in Romania and communicated directly on our product packaging through Premium quality assumed by the founding family”, states Dr. Eng. Ioan Popa, President of Transavia Group.
