S.C. TRANSAVIA S.A., in accordance with Article 26 paragraph (1) of H.G. no. 878/2005 regarding public access to environmental information, informs you of the following:
Our integrated 100% vertical production chain, from the hatching egg to the finished product, with our own facilities, is managed directly and includes everything: breeding farms, incubation and rearing of chicks, cultivation of cereals and sunflower seeds for the chicks’ feed, which we scientifically prepare in the combined feed factory, slaughterhouse and processing plant, a fleet for raw materials and finished products. Everything is supported by our own laboratories, where we constantly verify the quality and safety of the products, assess the birds’ welfare and analyze the feed and raw materials.
TRANSAVIA operates strictly in accordance with the applicable environmental legislation and within the limits established by the obtained permits. The company’s activities are structured around the Environmental Management System (EMS), implemented in accordance with the international standard SR EN ISO 14001:2015 and the regulations imposed by the competent authorities. The main objective of this system is the prevention, reduction and elimination of any negative impact on the environment. At the same time, the company ensures that all interested parties are informed and consulted transparently, in accordance with legal provisions and applicable procedures in the authorization process.
S.C. TRANSAVIA S.A. owns:
- 31 poultry farms (breeding, incubation and raising of meat chicks), located in 8 counties in Romania, from where all the chicks sold as finished products come.

- A combined feed plant (FNC) in Sântimbru, Alba County. It is equipped with a unique feed sterilization facility in the country, which allows the preparation of feed for all TRANSAVIA farms without any contact with the outside environment.
- 3 state-of-the-art slaughterhouses (in the counties of Alba, Brașov and Caraș-Severin), each equipped with its own laboratory for analyses.
- A meat processing plant in Alba County, with high-performance production lines, where the transformation of raw materials into finished products is carried out completely automatically, with the human factor intervening only for supervision.
- Administrative buildings necessary for the efficient coordination of all operations.
The list of work points is found in Annex No. 1 presently.
Through the Strategic Environmental Policy and Environmental Management Plan adopted at the strategic level, the company aims not only to comply with the requirements but also to continuously improve its environmental performance.
Strategic management prioritizes environmental issues. The company, through EMS, pursues the continuous optimization of waste management, the efficiency of energy and water consumption, the reduction of emissions throughout the value chain, and the limitation of food waste from the farm to the fork. The provisions of the integrated environmental permits in force are fully respected, and activities are documented annually through environmental reports submitted to the competent authorities.
We constantly monitor technological processes in order to anticipate risks, reduce their impact and increase the efficiency of the decontamination systems.
At all work sites, we use raw materials that comply with best practices, both in terms of quantities and storage methods, and we take all necessary measures regarding the receipt, unloading, storage, and delivery of raw materials and auxiliary materials to prevent negative effects on the environment: air, soil, surface and groundwater pollution, as well as odors or noise.
Environmental factors (air, water, soil) are permanently monitored through internal and accredited external laboratories, in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory acts. The results are periodically reported to the competent authorities, at the frequency established.
The management of generated waste fully complies with legal regulations. It is collected selectively, and subsequently processed or disposed of through authorized companies, based on collaboration contracts concluded.
The internal and external inspections carried out aimed at verifying compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the field of environmental protection. Furthermore, the awareness of the staff and subcontractors regarding their obligations in waste management and hazardous chemical substances management was sought. Particular attention was given to the ability to intervene in cases of accidental pollution caused by possible emissions or spills, and the necessary measures were implemented to prevent and limit their consequences on the health of the population and the environment.
The management of packaging and related waste is carried out in accordance with Article 16, paragraph (5), letter b) of Law no. 249/2015 on the method of managing packaging and packaging waste. This obligation is fulfilled on a contractual basis through an authorized organization that takes over and implements the obligations regarding the extended producer responsibility.
