An employer can receive many CVs for the same job and often has to read them quickly. That is why it is important to be able to easily see Who are you, what can you do, and what experience do you have?. You don't need a complicated CV to make a good impression, but the important information needs to stand out. Here is what can help you:
Read the job posting carefully before sending your resume.
Read carefully what the employer is looking for and the job requirements, then make sure they are easily visible in the CV. experience, qualifications, and the things you know how to do that are important for that job. For example:
- If a production position requires experience working in shifts and you have worked this way before, mention this.
- if a C category driver's license is required for a driver position, clearly state the license category.
- if you are a recent graduate and the position requires certain technical knowledge, you can show that you acquired it at school or during your internship.
You don't have to change the truth or invent experience, but rather highlight what you already know how to do and is relevant to the respective position.
Write simply and easy to read.
If you write your CV by hand, make sure it is legible, and if you make your CV on a computer, choose a standard font, such as Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman, with a size of 11–12. Avoid too many colors, drawings, or different types of writing. The most important thing is that the information is easily visible and understood.
State specifically what you know how to do.
Don't just write where you worked, but also what were you doing there.
- Instead of „I worked in a factory”, you can write „I worked for 2 years on the packaging line and prepared the products for delivery”.
- Instead of „am muncit la fermă”, you can say „m-am ocupat de hrănirea și îngrijirea animalelor și de curățenia adăposturilor”.
- If you have worked in a slaughterhouse, you can specify: „I worked for 3 years in poultry butchering.”.
The details help the employer understand what experience you have.
If this is your first job, talk about what you did during school.
You don't need years of experience to have a good CV. You can include the practical training done at vocational school, an internship, volunteering, seasonal work, or other activities through which you learned something useful.
For example: „I did a 3-month internship at an auto repair shop, where I helped with maintenance operations and learned to use basic tools.”
Highlight the important things for the position you want.
If you have a driver's license, a qualification, a certificate, or experience in a similar activity, make sure this information is easy to find.
For example:
- For a driver position, the driving license categories are very important;
- For an electrician position, qualifications and authorizations can matter more than other information.
Don't lengthen it just to make it seem richer.
For most people starting out or with a few previous jobs, one page is enough. If you have more experience, you can reach two pages. The important thing is to keep the information that helps the employer get to know you.
Write only true things.
Do not add a school you haven't finished or aren't currently attending, a qualification you don't have, or a place where you haven't worked. You don't have to invent experience to have a good resume. What is more important is to clearly show what you already know how to do and what you are prepared to learn.
Check it before you send it.
Make sure your CV doesn't contain typos (spelling mistakes show carelessness). Proofread company names, the periods you worked, your phone number, and the rest of the information. If you're not sure you've written everything correctly, ask someone else to read it too. A mistake in your phone number, for example, could mean the employer fails to contact you.
Give the file an easily recognizable name.
Don't send it with a name like „document1.pdf” or „CV nou final.pdf”. Better write „CV_Ion_Popescu.pdf”. It will be easier for the employer to know whose document it is.
If you send your CV by email or from your phone, save it in PDF format.
Thus, the document will look the same when the employer opens it, without the lines, photos, or information shifting.
You can start from a ready-made template.

The result will look very neat.
Keep the CV and update it.
You don't have to start from scratch every time you look for a job. Keep a copy and, when you change jobs, finish a course, or obtain a new qualification, add the information to your resume.
For a good CV you don't have to write many pages, but rather correct information, written clearly, through which to you show the employer, simply and correctly, who you are, what you have done so far, and what you know how to do. And if you are just starting out and don't have experience yet, show what you have learned and what you can bring to your first job.
