TRANSAVIA, the leader of the poultry meat market in Romania and one of the most reputable family businesses with 100% Romanian capital, obtained a score of 81 points infollowing the evaluation carried out by Romania Corporate Sustainability & Transparency Index (CST Index) 2025, the most important and complex sustainability ranking in Romania, achieving the Silver level. This result reflects a solid and consistent performance in relation to the sustainability criteria analyzed based on 243 data points, organized in 11 categories (Sustainability governance, Diversity policy, Economic impact, Climate change and energy, Environmental governance, Human rights and anti-corruption policy, Responsible employer, Product and marketing responsibility, Community investments, Value chain, Material impacts and aspects – DMA / Disclosure on Management Approach) and 99 indicators.
„The recognition by the CST Index Silver positions TRANSAVIA among companies with solid performance in a national context where the level of reporting and maturity in the field of sustainability remains low, reflecting the consistent work of our team, which day by day does everything exactly as it should be done, and the way we have chosen to act in order to grow sustainably, for the long term: with clear rules, responsibility, and transparency., spun TRANSAVIA representatives.
Through its operations, Romania’s leading poultry producer consistently contributes to the well-being of the people and communities where it operates, with the primary goal of producing safe, high-quality food, which is essential for the millions of families in the country and around the world who choose chicken produced on TRANSAVIA farms from stores every day. The business model, unique in the region and fully integrated (100%), from the bowl to the fork, with its own facilities, allows complete product traceability and supports food safety, while environmental protection and the responsible use of resources are assumed concerns, reflected in all stages of the production process.
„Our entire process is designed circularly, so that we fully utilize resources and reduce waste. For example, if raw material from our crop farms is used in the Combined Feed Mill, crop residues and straw are used as bedding for poultry. At the same time, secondary materials resulting from the feed production process, such as crop residues or seed husks, are redirected back to agriculture, either for animal raising or for crop fertilization. We do the same with animal by-products not intended for human consumption, from which we efficiently recover proteins and fats in our plants and protein meal factory. We thus manage to avoid waste generation and fully utilize 100% of the resulting products,”, explains representatives Transavia.
Due to the safety and consistent quality of the products offered, the sustainable approach, and the speed and flexibility in fulfilling orders, TRANSAVIA is a reliable partner and supplier for major retail and distribution networks, and for fast-food restaurant operators, thus consolidating its market-leader position year after year.
Romania CST Index 2025 marks the 10th anniversary edition of the ranking and is based on a rigorous methodology aligned with the most relevant international sustainability and non-financial reporting frameworks (CSRD, ESRS, GRI Universal Standards 2021, Dow Jones World Index, Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and UN Global Compact principles), ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of long-term economic, environmental, and social performance.
„Based on the 714 companies that had more than 500 employees in 2024, it appears that approximately 92% of these companies would not exceed the 50% threshold in the Romania CST Index assessment, mainly due to the lack of a sustainability report or statement.”, says the press release by The Azores Sustainability & CSR Services agency.
