TRANSAVIA, the only poultry meat producer in Romania certified GLOBAL S.L.P., the most important global animal farm good practices certification program, received and Gold recognition in the 2024 Community Index®, in the Animal Welfare category. The complex analysis of the 43 indicators aligned with the most important international standards in the field of community investments showed that the project „Responsible treatment of chicks. Animal welfare”, monitors the widespread use of existing best practices and technologies, from an economic and ecological perspective, in all production activities.

The award-winning project is based on certification GLOBAL S.L.P. (Smart Livestock Practices Standards) obtained by TRANSAVIA for the first time in Romania in the spring of this year, following an audit at the broiler breeding farms where ZERO non-conformities were recorded. Thus, the leader of the poultry sector in Romania contributes to sustainable agri-food practices, environmental protection, and ensures product quality and safety, having a positive impact on public health.

Standard. this based on years of research in collaboration with international experts, designed to support better consumer and environmental protection, sustainable production, social and animal welfare. It integrates best general practices aimed at reducing the waste of vital resources and ensuring sustainability for future generations, following a series of scientific criteria that go beyond legal requirements, are economically feasible, and can be quantified and audited”, explain Marian Sabău, Quality and Food Safety Director TRANSAVIA.
Within the 2024 Community Index®, where over 850 projects were evaluated across 21 categories, TRANSAVIA has also received SILVER recognition in the Reduce Reuse Recycle category with the project From Fork to Fork and Back, care has the objective of the full utilization of by-products not intended for human consumption resulting from the technological chain, practically avoiding the generation of waste.
