Over time, Transavia has been involved in the development and modernization of the Alba Iulia County Emergency Hospital, the most important medical unit in the county, through constant investments in the renovation and equipping of several departments.
The County Hospital in Alba Iulia provides specialized medical care for approximately 67,000 residents of the municipality of Alba Iulia and for approximately 383,000 residents of the county, while also serving as an emergency hospital.
In March 2014, the Alba County Council approved a draft resolution regarding the execution of major repair works at the Surgery and Urology Departments, and Transavia offered a sponsorship to complement the amount allocated from the local budget. The rehabilitation was carried out to European standards, and the two departments became accessible to people in need.
In 2016, Transavia decided to support the County Hospital for the rehabilitation of the Cardiology and Internal Medicine wards, and during the year it also sponsored the Emergency and Oncology wards for renovation and modernization works.
„Transavia allocates 1 million euros per year to support various community activities. I try to reward them, to give something back to the people. Since I was able to, since I am making a profit, I want to give back too, because God has given to me. There are many sponsorship requests, but we do not honor all of them. (…) The hospital is an institution that serves everyone. The worst thing for a person is to end up in the hospital”, said Ioan Popa, General Manager of Transavia.
