Transavia, the largest chicken meat producer in Romania, was present at the Anuga trade fair, the most important international exhibition event dedicated to the agri-food industry. The event took place from October 10-14, 2015, in Cologne, Germany, bringing together over 7,000 companies from around the world and more than 160,000 visitors.
During the event, it was noted that interest in fresh chicken meat from Romania has increased considerably compared to previous editions of the fair, proving that Romanian products are beginning to gain more and more ground and trust in the export market.
Furthermore, a series of business opportunities have been identified in the ready-meal product area, a category that Transavia intends to develop even further in the coming period.
It was also observed that a large share of the chicken meat producers present at the trade fair are increasingly investing in expanding their production capacities, which will lead to a particular focus on certain markets and specialized product categories.
“We are among the few producers with a regionally integrated production system, which includes our own grain production within this chain, and this advantage has created a series of opportunities for us at international trade fairs and beyond. We aim to continue approaching the retail sector as well, and in this regard we can rely on both the performance of our own brands and the potential of private labels. We have already managed to make our presence felt in Croatia and Bulgaria, where the entire product range is delivered under our own Fragedo brand, but we are also targeting other markets with potential. An important percentage of our exports consists of the ready-to-eat product category, dominated especially by private labels, with Great Britain being our most important destination in this segment.”, stated Mr. Ioan Popa, General Manager of Transavia.
Over the past 4 years, Transavia's sales have primarily targeted the European Union, mainly due to the profile and evolution of the global poultry market. Transavia is present on the international market through exports to Great Britain, France, Spain, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, and Bulgaria.
