Fragedo by TRANSAVIA and PlaYouth Association launch the "Școala Gustului Responsabil": A Program Bringing Teachers and Parents Together for Healthier Communities
What if nutrition education were no longer just a theoretical subject, but a concrete support system for teachers in the classroom, for parents at home, and for children every day? The PlaYouth Association and Fragedo, the flagship brand of TRANSAVIA, are launching "Responsible Taste School" (Școala Gustului Responsabil), a traveling educational program that brings information about balanced and responsible eating closer to parents and teachers in schools across Alba, Brașov, Cluj, and Sibiu.
"Responsible Taste School is about how families and schools can build a culture of healthy eating together, inspiring communities to adopt a harmonious lifestyle. It shows that caring for health begins with small but conscious gestures: in the child's school lunchbox, in the home kitchen, and in the messages shared in class. Together with our partners at TRANSAVIA, we will translate nutritional information into clear and applicable terminology, providing concrete tools to teachers and parents to help improve the quality of life for the entire family. We were pleased to see interest in the project from Inspectorates, schools, and parents, which confirms a real need for such initiatives. We believe that lasting change occurs when correct information is accompanied by support and collaboration, and this program is a concrete step in that direction," explains Ana Stănescu, President of the PlaYouth Association.
Through the "Responsible Taste School" caravan, running from February to April 2026, TRANSAVIA and the PlaYouth Association connect teachers and parents with accurate nutritional information, providing the support families need to build healthy and sustainable habits day by day.
"Childhood obesity in Romania is a major public health issue, affecting 1 in 4 children, and increasing. Data from the World Obesity Federation, included in the 2024 World Obesity Atlas, shows that over 25% of children are overweight or obese, with estimates reaching 500,000 obese children by 2030. The primary causes are improper nutrition, sedentary behavior, and lack of physical activity. Thus, education for responsible eating must become a priority today, not tomorrow. In this spirit, the collaboration between the chicken meat market leader Fragedo and the PlaYouth Association represents a concrete step through the Responsible Taste School caravan. It creates a natural space for dialogue and collaboration on aspects of balanced eating and proper nutrition, strengthening the bond between school and family and contributing to more informed and united communities around a common goal: children's health," state TRANSAVIA representatives.
Both at home, where parents seek clear benchmarks for better daily choices, and in schools, where teachers feel the need for practical tools that are easy to integrate into the classroom, education for balanced and responsible eating needs concrete support and applicable solutions. Teachers report that healthy eating education becomes truly effective when it has true support and applicable examples.
"As a primary school teacher, I increasingly feel the need for clear and applicable resources when discussing nutrition with students. Children are curious and ask questions, but information must be explained in a way they can understand. 'Responsible Taste School' provides exactly this support: concrete tools and practical examples that we can naturally integrate into class. I believe such initiatives help us build a real bridge between school and family, because healthy habits are formed together," says Alemănuța Toader, Methodologist Teacher at the Sibiu Teaching Staff House and Geography Teacher at Cristian Gymnasium School, Sibiu.
Support for Teachers. Clarity for Parents. Healthy Habits for Children.
"Responsible Taste School" highlights the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits, transforming the act of eating into a meaningful learning experience for teachers, parents and children.
For Teachers, the program offers concrete tools to approach nutritional education in an attractive way, easily integrated into homeroom or counseling hours: guides, worksheets, and interactive methods adapted to the students' age.
For Parents, the project will bring clarity to a field often burdened by contradictory information or myths. Sessions with specialists and open discussions will provide realistic solutions for school lunchboxes and daily family meals, focusing on nutritional balance, the origin of basic ingredients, and conscious choices.
A central element of the caravan will be the collaborative session "The Lunchbox of Ideas," where participants will work together to find nutritionally balanced, affordable, and easy-to-implement options.
Registration takes place between February 20 and March 8, 2026, by completing the form at this Link. Participating teachers and parents will receive a "Responsible Taste School" Caravan Kit, which includes educational materials and practical resources to continue activities at school and at home.
